Ardalanish

On the Isle of Mull, off the west coast of Scotland, a group of people make a unique and distinctive tweed, from the wool of their very own Hebridean sheep and that of other local farms. They are passionate about what they do and where they live and strive to limit the impact of their activity on the environment of the island.

Ardalanish Tweed is woven on Victorian Dobcross looms, which may be slower than modern looms, but allow each centimetre of fabric to be overseen.

Colours are natural and range from black and charcoal brown, fawn and silver grey through to a rich creamy white. Natural dyes are also used to add a bit of colour to the earthy shades. Some tweeds are certified “organic”.
